Self-Esteem

Low self-esteem involves a persistent feeling of inadequacy and a critical view of oneself, often affecting every aspect of an individual's life—from relationships and work to personal happiness and well-being. People with low self-esteem might struggle with a constant sense of self-doubt, feelings of unworthiness, or a harsh inner critic that undermines their accomplishments and magnifies their flaws. These feelings can lead to avoiding new opportunities, social withdrawal, or even contribute to mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. It's important to recognize that low self-esteem is not an accurate reflection of one's abilities or worth, but rather a distorted perception of oneself.

My therapy services aim to address low self-esteem by creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore and understand the roots of their negative self-image and begin the process of building a healthier, more compassionate relationship with themselves. Utilizing evidence-based approaches, we work together to identify and challenge the underlying beliefs and thought patterns that contribute to low self-esteem, develop practical skills for self-compassion and positive self-talk, and establish realistic goals that reinforce a sense of achievement and self-worth. Through this process, clients learn to appreciate their unique qualities, build confidence in their abilities, and engage more fully in their lives, fostering a more positive and empowered sense of self.
